  • NRls/ PIOs can hold jointly with a resident relative (as defined in Companies Act 2013) on 'former or survivor' basis. The resident relative can operate the account as a Power of Attorney holder during the lifetime of the NRI/ PIO account holder.

  • No additional interest will be payable to Senior Citizen and Staff/ex-staff Members

13 Permissible credits
  • Inward remittances from outside India, legitimate dues in India and transfers from other NRO accounts are permissible credits to NRO account.
  • Rupee gift/ loan made by a resident to NRI/ PIO relative within the limits prescribed under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme may be credited to the latter’s NRO account and other credit are as under 1) Sale proceeds of assets including immovable property acquired out of rupee/foreign currency funds or by way of legacy or inheritance.
  •  2) Legitimate dues in India of the account holder: this includes income like rent, dividend, and pension interest etc.
  • Any other credit permitted under FEMA regulation from time to time.
14 Permissible debits
  • The account can be debited for the purpose of local payments, transfers to other NRO accounts or remittance of current income abroad.
  • Apart from these, balances in the NRO account cannot be repatriated abroad except by NRIs and PIOs up to USD 1 million, subject to conditions specified in Foreign Exchange Management Act. Funds can be transferred to NRE account within this USD 1 Million facility in FY (April-March) subject to supported with required documents prescribed by income tax department like 15 CA and 15 CB.
  • Any other debit is permitted under FEMA regulation from time to time.

Type of Insurance Coverage and Benefits

  2. Air Accidental Death: ₹ 50 Lacs (Worldwide)
  3. Higher Education Cover: 10% additional limit of the base PAI cover.
  4. Unmarried Girl Child Marriage Cover (18-25 year): 10% additional limit of the base PAI cover
  5. Cost of Plastic Surgery/Burn: Additional limit of the base PAI cover Max up to ₹00 Lacs.
  6. Cost and Transportation of Imported Medicine: Additional limit of the base PAI Max up to ₹00 Lacs.
  7. Terms & Conditions

  8. Eligibility: The insurance coverage is exclusively available to the primary account holder and will be applicable for individuals aged 18 to 60 years
  9. NRE/NRO Accounts: Insurance benefits apply to one account only, even if the customer maintains both NRE and NRO accounts.
  10. Coverage Period: Maximum 12 months or up to the reference date, whichever is earlier, For current Policy reference date is 11th August 2025.
  11. Policy Renewal and Coverage: Coverage continuation is subject to renewal. Suspension or reinstatement is at the bank’s discretion.
  12. Premium Payment: Premium costs shall be borne by the bank.
  13. Insurance coverage will commence 30 days of account opening date or conversion of scheme.
  14. To avail of the enhanced features, existing customers of bob Premium NRE Saving Account must maintain the revised Quarterly Average Balance (QAB) as per the updated terms and conditions. They will also have the option to transfer their account to the standard NRE Saving Account scheme.

    Closure of Account:

  • For closure of Account within a year: If Account is closed by Customer within a year. Full Charges related to Debit Card, and Locker Charges is to be recovered.
  • IMPS/NEFT / RTGS charges through Electronic Channels like bob World Internet and bob World:
  • Free (through Digital Channel)
  • If fund transfer is done through Branch, then Normal Charges will be applicable.
  • SMS Charges: Applicable as per existing guidelines.

bob Premium NRO Saving Account : Most Important Terms and Conditions (MITC)

  • Account can be opened either individually or jointly with other NRIs / PIOs.
  • Funds deposited in the Account will be in the form of fresh Inward remittances from outside India, legitimate dues in India and transfers from other NRO accounts are permissible credits to NRO account.
  • The account can be debited for the purpose of local payments, transfers to other NRO accounts or remittance of current income abroad.
  • The maximum amount that can be repatriated from NRO account is USD 1 Million cumulatively per Financial Year. Repatriation from NRO Account is subject to guidelines issued by RBI / FEMA time to time.
  • bob Premium NRO Saving Account:

  • Rate on FFD created out of Auto Sweep shall be as per ROI applicable for NRO Term Deposit for 181 days.
  • In case of premature transfer of amount from Short Deposit before 181 days to account, the interest payable will be as per guidelines of the bank, from time to time, as applicable to Short Term Deposits (presently 1% less than the rate applicable for the period for which the deposit has remained with the bank).
